Plan of Operation
Plan of Operation
By January 1st of each year, the AWBA must approve a Plan of Operation for that calendar year. The report specifies how the AWBA will operate for the year including a water delivery schedule and associated storage facilities, and the projected cost for implementation of the Plan. Prior to approval, the Plan goes through a public review process.
2021 Plan of Operation:
The 2021 Plan of Operation was adopted on December 2nd, 2020.
For 2021, there will be no excess CAP water available to the AWBA for storage. As a result, the AWBA will continue to use alternative methods to continue making progress on its Indian and M&I firming goals. This includes purchases of long-term storage credits and ICS Firming credits. The AWBA anticipates purchasing approximately 42,610 acre-feet of LTSCs and 2,450 ICS Firming credits. The 2021 Plan of Operation proposes to develop an estimated 45,060 acre-feet of credits for a total estimated cost of $10.84 million.
